Poly Again Wins First Prize of the State Scientific and Technological Progress Award
Recently, the 2025 State Scientific and Technological Progress Awards were announced in Beijing. Poly Changda Engineering Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Poly International Holdings Co., Ltd., received the first prize of the State Scientific and Technological Progress Award — the seventh time the company has claimed the highest honor in China’s science and technology community.
The award-winning project is the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link, a mega cross-sea cluster project in which Poly Changda took part in construction. During the works, Poly’s teams undertook multiple contract sections covering bridges, the immersed tube tunnel, dredging and steel deck paving, setting eight world records and filling several gaps in China and indeed in the world.

This is not the first time Poly Changda has received the highest honor in China’s science and technology community. In 2019, the project “Key Technologies for the Construction and Operational Safety of Highway Tunnel Groups in Complex and Hazardous Mountainous Areas” was awarded the first prize of the State Scientific and Technological Progress Award. The research, in which Poly participated, focused on overcoming the challenges of building contiguous mountain highway tunnels and of operating them once opened. It improved China’s highway construction standard system, broke through related technological barriers and brought China’s mountain highway tunnel construction and operation technology to the forefront of the world.

In 2024, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge cross-sea cluster project — a major undertaking known as the “Everest” of bridge engineering — was also awarded the first prize of the State Scientific and Technological Progress Award. This project, too, was built with the dedication and craftsmanship of Poly people.

Beyond this, in recent years Poly Changda has accumulated more than 300 national-level honors, standards and patents, including 7 State Scientific and Technological Progress Awards, 11 China Civil Engineering Zhan Tianyou Awards and 4 China Construction Luban Prizes. These accolades are inscribed not only on the monuments of China’s transport construction, but also in the record of Poly Changda’s solid leap from a “builder” to a “technology leader.”
Poly people will continue to write their story across the mountains, rivers, lakes and seas of the nation, contributing ever more Poly power to advancing Chinese modernization in the new era.
